Why

decisions/2026-10-29-home-node-inventory-arbitrations.md section 5 lists facts taken from documentation, not from the estate. A negative fact carries the day it was measured. The names built on these facts are final.

The three measurements

  • Reserved ipset names. On the node itself, with the PVE version: management and ipfilter-net*. Today the source is pve-firewall master src/PVE/Firewall.pm and the PVE 8.x docs, read on 2026-10-29.
  • PBS. The provider's name attributes and a datastore's maximum length, for per-shr-bkp-base-vault. The registry's PBS constraints date from mid-2024.
  • Scaleway groups. The default groups, actually listed. Today they are inferred from policy names.

Who

The home node session, which holds the access. Each result lands in the matching registry note, with its date and the provider version.

Filed for a later grouped pass over the kit's open tickets.
